Change
We all have personal ambitions. For some, it is the desire to be rich and famous—or one of these. For others, it is to introduce a new order, trend, or way of thinking. But the ultimate ambition is the desire to prove ourselves. This is the catalyst for change in society.
Meeting our goal for seeking change gives us inner satisfaction and confidence. Perhaps we get people to do our cravings by appearing to act on their behalves.
Some take a radical approach to change. This involves dismantling existing traditions and institutions overnight, or suddenly replacing the old with the new. Others take a soft, laborious approach, like easing the old for the new, without the people noticing or feeling the burdens.
One is like rolling a rock down the top of a cliff. The other is creative and seeeks to be fair as possible.
The German-American political philosopher Leo Strauss (1899-1973) said change "... action is then guided by some thought of better or worse."
We all want some kind of change. But the person effecting change either makes things better or worse.
