Stimuli
Should humans respond to every push of their adrenalines?
When they do that, the downside is they would hurt many people, destroy properties, and the ecosystem.
The upside is there would be more businesses and innovations, forgiveness, and compassion.
But the hunger to react to the unending streams of stimuli would keep humans unfocussed, and even self-destructive. And humanity would end up like the people of the biblical Tower of Babel: They would accomplish nothing in the end.
To keep addrenalines in check, humans can practice self-restraint and mindfulness. Not every thought or emotion is worth giving attention to.
